Phil's Story
Life
After graduation, I attended Oregon State University as a math major.
In my second year in college I lived at home and went to U of O.
In 1982 my father passed away. My older brother lived in Portland so I moved in with him and his family until I found a place of my own. I attended Portland State University. I graduated in 1986 with a BS in Math and Physics.
I decided to join the Peace Corps -- "The toughest job you'll ever love". I spent a year in Sierra Leone, West Africa when I was forced to leave due to medical problems.

We decided I would pursue my Master's degree in Math. So we returned to Portland and I began my Master's degree at Portland State University.
I found a great job in the actuarial department at Standard Insurance Company in downtown Portland in May of 1999.
Our first child came in 1995. The second in 1997 and the third and last one came in 2001.
We lived in Portland until January 2017 when we moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho.
As of March 2021, I am still working at Standard Insurance Company but now I work from home.
