Philip's Story

From 1962 to present I have lived in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro but have been back to the USA almost every year since then. I have not been back to Sparta in many years. I studied in St. Louis from 1948 to 1952, in Glen Ellyn, Ill. from l953-1954, entered the Navy in 1954, entered the Naval Academy in 1954 but resigned in 1956. Studied and worked in Wash. ign Service School, met my wife who is Brazilian in 1957, wored at the Pan American Union (OAS) until 1962 and accepted a two year contract to expand the Credit Unions in Brazil but this ended up being 6 years, decided to stay in Brazil and have been there since 1962, fifty years this December. Of course there are many other activities in that period but that would require a book to list them.
