Life What have I been doing the last 40 years!! Went to Evansville College for two years. Then joined the Marines, but broke my foot three times in basic training and got out with an honorable discharge after only 5 months. Then I got a job as a radio engineer and announcer for WAKO in Lawrenceville where I met my wife. We dated one time and got married 35 years ago. The next 5 years was spent moving to Pennsylvania, Indiana, Florida, Illinois, and finally to Dallas, TX where we've spent most of the remaining years. During the first years in Dallas, I worked at Texas Instruments and went back to school to get my BSEE at Southern Methodist University. I worked as a power supply test engineer for TI, Martin-Marietta in Orlando, Compaq Computer Corporation in Houston, and AT&T back in Dallas. I accepted a position with a new startup company in Arkansas as vice-president of engineering where I was promised that I'd be rich or broke within a year (I was, but not rich). ...Expand for more
Finally I returned back to Dallas in early 1994 and back to Texas Instruments where I was a systems engineer in power systems design. I migrated over to sample power supply design for customers and then to software development in power supply design software. I was "retired" after a re-organization in Dec 2005 and have been enjoying retirement ever since. I wasn't sure that I'd ever get to retire, but I've come to find out that it's GREAT-T-T. I do some part-time work for a friend of mine in Garland that has a business designing and re-furbishing power supplies for nuclear power plants. The work is OK, but I prefer the long periods off trying to catch up on my forty years of home repairs. We have two girls - Tonya (44) who I adopted when I married Patricia and Veronica(28). We also have 6 grandchildren and 7.5 great-grandchildren. My hobbies include photography, woodworking, surfing the net, genealogy, and riding my new toy - a Honda 600cc Silver Wing motorscooter.
