I am Phil. For those who knew/know me, you know exactly what I mean. I still am, after 17 years, but older, somewhat wiser... I still listen to metal almost exclusively, but know there are times when the mood dictates something else, like Carrie Newcomer, the musical equivalent of a hug. I still play guitar, mainly thrash, and am better than I was in high school, but that's not REALLY saying much... I got my degree in Psychology with a minor in Creative/Technical writing. Both of these have gone, by and large, underutilized in the job world as I have gone from programmer to chef to photographer. Go figure. Along the way I met my wife, Lara, and she and I are the proud parents of Alex and Connor. Alex will be turning 16, this year, and that is terrifying to me... I still remember 16 -- the kids are supposed to be ages I can't remember anymore! At any rate, Lara and I have been married 10 years, now, and it's been a blast. Family is everything. It's funny -- people talk about how high school were the best years of their lives...holy hell you couldn't pay me to do it, again! Not that it wasn't an amazing experience the first time, but the idea of dealing with the explosive emotions, amped hormones and, well, misguided delusions of knowing it all...no thanks. Once is enough. College, I guess, is repeatable enough, as I'm back to school for the first time since 1995. Talk about a shock to the system...my fellow students are now, on average, 14 years younger than I am -- born around the time I graduated from college the first time! ...that said, I'm working on technical certificates in Photography and Entrepreneurship and an associates in CIS (programmer/analyst).
