School Jr High anto Sr High in Eldorado was so very different.From being "no one" in 8th grade to being 1st String on the Football team and Class President in the ninth grade.Then back to being "no body" in 10th grade and 11th. I was needing to get out and graduated early to get kicked out of college and run out of town in Arkedelphia,AR College When I got to Henderson State Teachers College in the fall of 1972 I ran into my brother's 3rd Grade school teacher from Texarkana, Mrs. Shaddox. I asked her what she was doing there and she said,"teaching remedial English and Writing". I asked why. She said there were people in college who didn't know how to read and write. I graduated from High School with a 3.75 gpa and was refused a $500 Accedemic Scholarship. Yet there were people with full scholarships who didn't know how to read and write. I knew I wasn't in the right place. After being asked to leave Henderson for being involved with a drug related incident, I would go on to take classes in Painting, Drawing, Ceramics at Louisiana Tech in Rustin,LA and Arkansas Tech in Russelville,AR. The work I did in these schools I would present to the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Angers,France in 1977 and study art there till 1982. Not to sure about the "starving" part of artist, I enrolled at Northwest Arkansas Vo-Tech and learn carpentry in 1982-83 and return to France to attend a furniture building school in 1985.
