Phyllis's Story
I hesitate to tell my story on classmates because previous efforts has my life sounding so pathetic. My story might get me on the Oprah and Dr. Phil show, definitely on Discovery Health : Mystery Diagnosis, and (unfortunately) probably on the Jerry Springer show.
After Sprayberry I could only torture myself a year and a half of higher education. I got married in 1970 and after one month my husband's company transferred us to Miami. This was without a doubt, my first culture shock. I worked in the advertising department of land developers until my son was born 4 years later. When he was 9 months old we were transferred to Jacksonville, FL and then back again to south Florida to Boca Raton in 1979.
I was a stay at home mom until 1988 when a divorce turned my life upside down. I should have suspected something was going wrong when my husband asked me to stop making homemade bread and just buy loaf bread at the store. LOL! I stayed in Boca until 1991 when I headed back to Georgia.

h issues, and losing my parents, changed my perspective on life one more time. In 2002 I remarried and moved one more time from Marietta to Conyers, GA, my husband's hometown.
My pride and joy in this life is my son, he is a wonderful individual. Larry is 34 and married living in Virginia. He is an ocean engineer employed by the Navy and my daughter-in-law is employed by the CIA. They commute to Washington D.C. but because of security reasons, I know very little what either of them do. They live a very interesting life.
As of now, I am only working part time and pretty much make my own hours. My employer has been so gracious through the years; at one time they held my job for me for 18 months while I recovered from an illness. Most likely I will retire in the very near future (on my own terms, not the economy).
Well, those are the highlights. Certainly not an exciting read; the untold stories are the pathetic chapters I was careful not to mention. SO, there Sprayberry friends of mine who have requested my story, I look forward to seeing "updates" in your profile!
