Phyllis's Story
Hi All, (updated Sept 26, 2011)
I was born in Ottawa, and went to Fisher Heights PS from Kindergarten to grade 6. We lived at 34 Millbrook--so school was a couple of blocks away. I had Mrs. Ritter (later Mrs. Eisen sp?) for Kindergarten, Mrs. Sparling for Grade 1, Mrs. L. Craig for Grade 2, Mrs. Karen Craig for Grade 3. (I got leukemia in this my 3rd grade and missed most of school from February to the end. I am a born again Christian and thank the Lord Jesus for having healed me of this cancer, which has never come back.) For Grade 4 I had Mrs. Andrusek, and for Grade 5 I had Mr. Mosley and for Grade 6 I had Mrs. Karen Balogh (formerly Mrs. Craig).
Does anyone know the whereabouts of Mrs. Balogh? I would like to get in touch with her.
My family (parents and 3 sisters) moved to Craig Henry area of Ottawa and I went to Greenbank PS for Grades 7 and 8, and then to Sir Robert Border High School until grade 12.

My father came down with cancer (multiple myeloma) when I was 18 and he died when I was 22 (1991)--my youngest sister was only 13 at the time. These were hard times, but not without showers of blessings too. We are just so thankful we didn't have to go through this (and all of life's trials) alone, but had our Lord Jesus to lean on and what a Support and Comforter He is!
As Fanny Crosby could say (she was blind from early infancy) --
"All the way my Saviour leads me,
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy
Who through life has been my guide?
Heav'nly peace, divinest comfort
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know what e'er befall me

After approximately 10 years at CHEO, I married Karl and we have two daughters, aged 7 and 4. I am now a homemaker and we live in Perth Ontario. We have lots of family within an half hour from us.
