Phyllis's Story
Life - Update July 2009
WE'RE MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John and I had a beautiful Victorian wedding on July 3rd 2009! We both wore authentic period clothing and had a horse drawn carridge take us from the Roseland Methodist Church to The Hanover Manor. I have posted pictures that my sister, Jane, took of the wedding. We will post more pictures as we get them. We spent a glorious honeymoon in Victorian Cape May. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed many trolley tours of the historical town. We also took a horse and carridge ride while there. We recommend the Cape May Zoo and Aviation Museum. I'll be posting some great pictures we took too. Anyone who is planning a visit there, I can give you some pointers. I am taking the summer off to enjoy my new husband and move into my new home. John has a step son, James, who lives with us. My James is staying with my parents to help them out. Now we have two James's to keep track of! I am looking forward to a little R&R before I go back to teaching in September. I will be teaching Art and giving Art lessons most of the day with one 9th grade English class. I am so happy with my new job and school!!!!And new husband!!!!!!!!!!
Update June 2009
John and I were engaged on December 13, 2008 and are planning a wedding this July. We had a wonderful time at the reunion last year and ...Expand for more
everyone made John feel welcome. He espcially enjoyed seeing old friends from his Shop Rite days. I've taken time off from going for my Masters in Special Education at William Paterson. I am teaching English and Art at a private high school in Wayne and love it. Our school plans on moving and expanding to cover K-6 in addition to our 7-12th grades. I'll be sure to have my hands full in September. This will be the first summer I won't be teaching summer school. After we get back from our honeymoon, John and I plan to continue working on our "Love Nest". We'll post wedding pictures as soon as we can. We're both so happy!!!! It's never to late to live happily ever after!!!
College
If you have read my life profile in the past, you know that I recently received Special Ed and Elementary Ed teaching certificates. I finished up the state's requirements the summer of 2005 and continue towards my Masters in Special Ed with a 4.0 GPA. Those of you who knew me in high school know that this is no small miracle! Hard work, dedication, and LOTS of prayer made it all possible. I hope to continue with William Paterson's graduate program so that I may be able to earn my Master's degree in Special Ed. I am thankful to have found my life's calling and love working with children who have trouble learning in the traditional manner, such as I did.
