Phyllis's Story

Life I have been divorced since July 13, 2015, after being married for 34 years. My ex-husband was an ordained minister, but, about 2-1/2 years ago was diagnosed as being schizophrenic and started to become somewhat violent. We separated for about 2 years and I filed for a divorce. At the present time, I am still "single" (divorced) and living in Cambria, Illinois (near Carbondale, Illinois). ol, I continued to live and work in Elgin at Simpson Electric Company. I moved to southern Illinois in 1974 to be near my parents. After moving to southern Illinois, I worked as a clerk-typist with a real estate company. I worked for several years as a literacy project secretary at Shawnee Library System in Carterville and a couple of years as secretary at a mobile home dealership. Also served as secretary/treasurer of my church for several years.
