One of Preston's favorite quotes is:""When you’re a carpenter making a beautiful chest of drawers, you’re not going to use a piece of plywood on the back, even though it faces the wall and nobody will see it. You’ll know it’s there, so you’re going to use a beautiful piece of wood on the back. For you to sleep well at night, the aesthetic, the quality, has to be carried all the way through.” -Steve Jobs".
More about Preston:"Well, Zuckerburg told me to write about myself... so here goes: It all begins in 1999 in a little place called Redford (okay, I won't bore you with the details) right outside of Detroit. That's where I was born. Thereafter I attended South Redford Preschool and graduated (like, seriously they had this graduation ceremony... seriously) in... hmmm... 2004? Maybe. So then I attended Memorial Elementary School in Garden City which was decent enough. I mean I still didn't get it, but it was okay. For fifth grade I transferred to the honourable St. Robert Bellarmine catholic school. It was a graduating class of 15 people, so you can imagine how close we were. S...Expand for more
o, after we 'graduated' (on May 22, 2013, thank you very much) we (and by we, I mean my family) decided to move out in the middle of nowhere. No, seriously. We live in a place where there are dust storms in the road. DUST STORMS (or as the kids in Arizona call them, haboobs). In the mean time, though, I attended Garden City High School (and, honestly, I consider myself more a cougar than a tiger) for a whopping month. If you think you walk a lot at your school now, try walking a few sets of stairs every 45 minutes (yeah, no block scheduling). That's how cougars do (Gregory always said tigers never sleep, well if tigers don't sleep then cougars have RLS or something). So then after that, I came here to Fenton High and as they say the rest is history. Well, not really. See, I made a few mistakes my first two years. Some expensive ones, really. I mean, I got a 3.88 GPA last semester and still won't graduate with high honours. But at least I can say I got the highest failing exam on my Geometry exam sophomore year (a stellar 45%). That's why I say I'm the most unexpected underdog. You see, friend, I practically failed my first two years of high school. Like, really failed. D and E failed. But now I feel like a failure if I get an A-. Dude, it's all possible. Just win it.
(Also, check out the band The C.I.A. on iTunes. Just search 'The C.I.A. Teenage Alcoholic' and you'll see. My old lit teacher at GCHS was in that band in the 80's. Shoutout to Mr. Hett!)".
