Rafael's Story
Life
Here is a quick synopsis of my life...Went to Belmont 85', Joined the Navy 89', Attended ELAC 92', and CSULA 98' where I attained a degree in business. I have worked in Hospital Administration for many hospitals including, St. Vincent, Cedars, California Hospital, & Communities in Santa Ana. After burning myself out, working 16 hour days in Med Centers, I went the Non-Profit way and managed the American GI Forum to help fellow veterans. The Non-profit lost state funding and I turned to Real Estate. I am now a broker working at Coldwell Banker in Montebello.
Enough ramblingÂ
I just want to say hello to all my fellow Sentinels. Drop me a note and we'll take it from there. Go Green & Black!
School
Wow, it has been over 20 years since I left the campus of my sweet Belmont. It is really difficult to look back without any type of emotional response. For the life of me, I can not tell you just how fast time sneaks up on you. Belmont, and the relationships I made there have been forever a warm and fuzzy part of my life. ted with the carefree life we all once had. There are things I regret not doing, or people I may not have acknowledged, and for that I am sometimes sorry. As they say, "If I Only Knew Then What I know Now!" We must keep our eye on the future and our hearts in the past.
By the way, I don't have any pictures of myself during my Belmont years, I didn't even take my Senior Portrait. I did, however, take pictures during my sophomore and junior years. I am pictured with my old buddy Leo in the 84' year book, if anyone is curious.
Military
After graduating from high school 85', I joined the Navy. I was part of Desert Shield and Desert Storm on board the U.S.S. Missouri 85-89. I wanted to serve my country, not to mention, I had no idea what I wanted to do after graduating high school. The Navy helped me in many ways, but it was most definitely, not something I could do for twenty years. It was a fun ride, sailing around the world, but I wanted to come home...L.A. is like no other city in the world.
There are so many memories while serving on the Mighty Mo in S-3 Division to list.
