Ralph's Story
Life
I moved from Culver City to Sacramento in 1962 half way thru my senior year. When I got out of college I went to work for Raleys Drug stores for 10 years. I left Raleys and went to work for Payless Drug Stores. I have been in retail all my life. After 28 years with Payless and Rite Aid Drugs I retired in May 2002. I have a wife, a son and a daughter. I really like classic cars and go to as many local shows as I can. I hope to hear from some of my old classmates. Well it's now just a couple of months away from 2007 and i'm still here kickin. I had to retire in 2002 because of Parkinsons but i'm still going to car shows, just can't walk too good but i can still drive. Well it's May 2009. I've had my left hip replaced in August 2008, doing great as far as my hip goes but i've been slowly getting worse ...Expand for more
as far as my legs go. My legs don't want to let me walk very far before they give out and i've been having a lot of back pain. I went to a specialist and he said i have spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal area. Good news is maybe i don't have Parkinsons cause the spinal stenosis is often misdiagnosed as Parkinsons because the symtons are the same. Bad news is i could have both. I will under go spinal surgery soon and let all of you know how it comes out. Surgery went well and i feel much better getting stronger every day. Still have weakness in my legs but not near as bad as before. My mom used to say dont get old and she was right. Legs are getting worse and low back pain also. It now is Sept 2011 still cant walk very well but keep on trying..I'm on facebook if you want to send me a message....
