Ralph's Story
Ralph was born on a farm near Roswell (1932), and became a bit of an Oregonian at age 7 (1939) when his family homesteaded sagebrush and jackrabbit dominated land six miles west of Homedale (one mile into Oregon). He is married to Wanda Pierson Beebe (1953), with whom he fell in love while at GFA. After graduating from Greenleaf Academy in 1950 he attended George Fox University (graduated with BA in 1954), and has graduate degrees from Linfield (M of Ed, 1955) and the University of Oregon (MA, 1969, PhD, 1972). 25 at George Fox. He and Wanda have three "children", Diane, Lori and Ken, six birth and four adopted grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren (so far). Ralph and Wanda live at Friendsview Retirement Community in Newberg, Oregon. He has authored several books, including among others an historical novel on the Civil War ("Cousins at War"), a family autobiography ("The Ralph and Wanda Pierson Beebe Family"), a history of evangelical Quakers in the Northwest ("A Garden of the Lord"), and a history of George Fox University ("A Heritage to Honor, A Future to Fulfill"). He and Wanda have been active in Newberg Friends Church.
