After Graduation, I went to Cal Poly, Pomona for two good years, majoring in Accounting, and playing Baseball with the College team. In my second year I felt a call to full-time Christian Service, so I transferred my third year to Pasadena Nazarene College where I majored and graduated with a B.A. in Religion in 1972. It was in those wonderful years that I met and married Janie Philips, my wife of 38 years now. After a semester of Seminary in Kansas City, Mo., I felt it wasn't for me, and returned to California and entered the pastoral ministry. I pastored for 12 years in Indio, Exeter, Fresno,Tehachapi,and Los Gatos,all in California. My wife and I had 3 wonderful children before we left the pastorate in 1985 and I entered into a career in Accounting, where my true gifting lies. We lived for 6 years in the mountains of California in a little resort town of Twain Harte, serving in many capacities in a wonderful church there. It was there that we both felt a call to mission service, and so in 1991 we quit our jobs, sold everything, and took our three kids with us to Kona,Hawaii then Honolulu, Hawaii. We served there with a group called YWAM for 9 years living completely by faith as volunteers.
