Ralph's Story
Life
I was the director of education and development for a nonprofit HIV service provider that I helped found in 1988 until it went out of business in 2006. I am still an ordained minister and was the assistant pastor of Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church in Houston, Texas from 1997-2003. ntil Feb. 2006. I then sought transfer of my clergy credentials to the United Church of Christ, which is a very "open and affirming" denomination. I was granted this request and was called in March 2006 to become the part-time Assistant Pastor of Bethel Church UCC, where I continued to offer a service on Saturdays in Spanish and English and assist the Pastor on Sundays. This church is a very active one and is growing every week.
