Randall's Story
Life
Have been married 41 years to former Diana Luckner (Central Catholic, '64) of Massillon. Lived in Massillon for 39 years. Moved Nov., '08 to Perry Heights near Sippo Lake. Three adult daughters and one adult son (youngest) and 13 grandchildren (14th to arrive Jan., 2010), and 1 great-grandson.
Diana is registered nurse now at Affinity in Massillon. My work is substance abuse counseling at Christian based, residential rehab center, New Destiny Treatment Center, a ministry of Barberton Rescue Mission. For a while I worked with (Dr.)Roger Rambaud (Perry, '63), who was my supervisor. Small world! He has since moved on to his own independent firm and work. Worked in this capacity now for over 10-1/2 years, after finally graduating from college in May, '98, 34 years after starting college, with B.A. in psychology and close to major in math (having attended 3 universities).
Diana and I have sung about 22 years in a community Christian choir that puts on major productions at the Akron Civic Theater in Decembers. Tour buses brought people from all neighbor...Expand for more
ing states around Ohio and Canada to our concerts. Dec., 2008 was last performance, since the choir has now folded and disbanded. We are now singing with a group that has re-formed under the name of "Majestic Voice", a greatly scaled down production.
Attended (Perry) class reunion for first time in '99 and was amazed how a number of us had changed so much. Have attended a couple other reunions since, but not this last one. Hopefully, for the 50th. Would like to retire, but cannot afford health insurance and probably will have to wait until Medicare kicks in at 65 years of age, less than 2 years away now.
Interests include gardening, bicycle riding, music. Since about 2001 have picked up clarinet again, working on guitar and bass, keyboard, and some others. Piano teacher told me I should have been a musician and should have majored in music. (What a thing to hear at 60 plus years of age!!!) Certainly much harder now to learn instruments with arthritis setting in and "senior" moments happening!! than if I would have kept up with things when I was young.
