Randi's Story
Its been a long time since I played my guitar and sang in the ground floor girls' bathroom. I've worked in administration, video production, at an animal shelter, and several other miscellaneous small businesses in various capacities. It is difficult to excel at something you don't enjoy, so I think many of us tend to dabble before landing on something that doesn't make us cringe in the morning.
In 2006 I was chosen in a very well-publicized press conference as the new "Voice of Metro" over 1,258 other hopefuls, and since then my career in the entertainment industry has finally taken flight. The day after being featured on the Today Show and many other news shows and newspapers, I was contracted to be the signature voice of an entertainm...Expand for more
ent company in California. I'm the menu voice for Mobile Tours in DC and have recorded narrations for web-based training programs and several commercials. And of course, I'm heard by over 800,000 riders every day on the second-busiest subway system in the nation as the Voice of DC's Metrorail system. I've been very fortunate to use my voice and "celebrity" to help several charities raise money, including Capital Hospice, The Mautner Project, The Thomas G. Labrecque Foundation and The Duffy House.
While I currently live in Virginia, I visit my very cool parents in Rockville often. Mom still works for a vet in Bethesda, and Dad is a body builder. My websites are Randi-Miller.com and VoiceofMetro.com and you can also find me on Facebook.
