Randi's Story
My life has been different, that's for sure! I graduated from Lake Havasu City, AZ, after attending Atoka county schools, including Harmony, Stringtown and Atoka, most of my life. I missed my friends in Atoka, especially Eva Gayle Cochran and Sue Fleming McGinnis(I've known Sue since 3rd grade), Peggy McDonald, Karen Fina, Beverly Benham and Jan Underwood, but I was glad to move because I love meeting new people and seeing new places. That has been the major theme of my life. Besides my home state of Oklahoma, I've lived in Utah (where I met my husband and had my son), Arizona, California, Tennessee, Florida, Vermont and the US Virgin Islands twice. I've been a waitress, radio dj (I was terrible, cause I'm not good with timed events), newspaper reporter, executive assistant, social worker and now work as manager for a small historical museum, which I love. I intend to go back to school to get a master's in some area of historical preservation. I've been divorced a lot longer than I was married, but I'm still good friends with my ex and his wife and family. I'm terribly proud of my son, Nathan, who has served...Expand for more
his country for 10 years and counting. He and his wife, Jessie Beaumia Crawford, have 4 kids, Skylar, 14, Aurora, 6, Nicholas, 4 and Benjamin, 2. I enjoy being single, don't have any desire to remarry, but would love to meet a man I enjoy spending time with. I don't like people who are closed minded or too set in their ways to grow and change. I'm most excited about what could happen around the corner, in the future. I enjoy life and am in no hurry to leave it, try to have healthy habits, (have never smoked cigarettes, only drink very occasionally) although in my younger days I was very reckless and wild. I think that is the biggest surprise to me - how much I have changed and mellowed as I get older and wiser. I enjoy people from all walks of life and am enjoying being involved in my community. I'm currently president of our local historical society and participate in the OK Mainstreet program in my town. My mom lives about an hour away and I see her regularly. My brother, Wayne, also lives nearby. My son and his family are currently stationed in Kentucky, but you never know where he will be sent next.
