Randolph's Story

Life The past years have been interesting and exciting. After graduation, I moved to Mt. View to follow my job with Pacific Telephone, as it was called then. In 1984, I quit and moved around the state quite a bit, working various jobs in the restaurant/hotel industry. I moved back to Salinas in 1988. I eventually found my way back to the phone company (now the new AT&T) in 1991 and just passed my 20 year milestone with the company. I started a degree program with USF in 1992 and graduated in 1997. I was recently named General Manager for Northern California and Nevada for AT&T. I am responsible for the local consumer market strategy and sales for AT&T video, voice, and broadband services, primarily our AT&T U-verse service. After a couple of trys, I am enjoying a wonderful relationship with my partner, Cal. We live in the East Bay and also spend time at our second home in Palm Springs. I still love to get out and dance the night away, ski, travel, and try new restaurants. I am particularly proud of my board work with Frameline for which I serve as vice-president. We are excited to have AT&T as the Grand Sponsor of the San Francisco LGBT International Film Festival (Frameline32) in June 19-29, 2008. Life is good on my end, hope it's the same for all of you!! School I have lots of great memories about attending Alisal High...Expand for more
School. It was a period of much growth and awareness for me. While there are many fun times that I recall, the best memories I have include the surprise 16th birthday party that William Sims and others hosted for me at Linda Barragan's house. It was the only time I was ever truly surprised and the only surprise birthday party I have had to date. I also laugh about the time a number of us (and you know who you are) were busted at the top of Jack's Peak after attending a Leadership Conference with loads of delicious TJ Swan. Can't remember if it was Mellow Days or Summer Nights - but I do remember the Monterey County Sherrif making a comment about us having some kind of "international" party - referencing the fact that we were all from different ethnic backgrounds. Of course, there are the many stories and memories of my apartment that I had during the latter part of my Junior year through my Senior year. The Senior Trip to Disneyland for Grad Night was a hilarious trip and I still wonder why they thought our bus could do without a chaperone - my yearbook still has many "cuts" into the plastic! Closing our grad year up with our class trip to Hawaii was quite the topper. So many amazing decisions were made that trip, including one for me that led to a very interesting chapter in my life - thank goodness that's all history now!
