Randy's Story
Randy is originally from Summerville, where he attended Summerville High School. He went on to study Physics and Mathematics at Charleston Southern University before earning a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. He is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in Traumatology at Liberty University, continuing his commitment to both academic excellence and compassionate care.
Randy’s taste in music reflects a love for classic and alternative rock, including artists such as Boston and R.E.M. Among his favorite books are You Don’t Need a Title to Be a Leader and Coach Wooden’s Leadership Game Plan for Success, both of which emphasize character, integrity, and servant leadership. His favorite films include Tucker: The man and his Dream, Hidden Figures, and The Six Triple Eight, while his television preferences range from the humor of Everybody Loves Raymond to the programs from the 1950s and 1960s such as Perry Mason and Westerns....Expand for more
One of Randy’s favorite reflections on relationships captures his thoughtful nature: finding lasting love should be like selecting a piece of art, someone who captivates you, someone you want to cherish and frame. Too often, however, people carry small, prefabricated frames and attempt to force others into them rather than truly seeing who they are.
As for Randy himself, he is far more than a simple list of interests or credentials. He is a thoughtful, introspective man who thinks deeply about life, faith, trauma, and relationships. He carries both strength and tenderness: intellectually rigorous yet emotionally reflective. Having walked through personal loss, health challenges, and relational complexity, he brings lived experience into his calling. His heart leans toward those who suffer, especially individuals carrying trauma, moral injury, and unseen wounds, and his pursuit of advanced study in traumatology reflects not just academic ambition but a genuine desire to help restore others.
