Randy's Story
Life
Life has blessed me with a wonderful family and a wife whom I cherish. We are happy and enjoy a variety of hobbies and activities. We sing in the Southern California Mormon Choir and have several other hobbies and activities. I teach, manage, provide financial services, notarize loan docs, etc. Previously I worked in computer software and hardware companies creating, fixing, and managing projects, processes, and groups such as quality assurance, training, product roll-out, technical support/service, etc.

College prep for engineering including summer school each year. Extracurricular activities at Arroyo included band, track, & cross-country. In leagues and associations outside of Arroyo I enjoyed baseball, martial arts, and motor sports.

Workplace
I am a job coach trainer at Deseret Industries. I have been working another career as a financial professional since 2000, but I don't list details here so this won't be misconstrued as a commercial for various financial service companies. I also am a traveling notary public and certified signing agent. A few times I reluctantly let people talk me into short gigs tutoring or teaching subjects ranging from math to music to software development. urning to the technical or corporate worlds. There were several other jobs along the way that helped provide income. Many years ago when I was single, work as a machinist, auto mechanic, hard-surface flooring installer, music teacher & librarian, electrician, etc. paid for schooling and a social life. My major changed from engineering to the K-12 credential program while concurrently majoring in music, math, and physics so I could teach those three subjects in high school. Teaching in elementary, junior high, high school, college, and evening school plus working a contract developing high school math and English materials convinced me that public school was not my favorite work environment. I love teaching and helping people; I just donÃÂÿt find public schools to be my favorite place to teach. A two-year mission as a Chinese-speaking missionary in Hong Kong and French Canada allowed me to baffle people with imperfect Chinese and very limited French. Both languages have completely left me over the years. More schooling (computer technology and an MBA) helped me make a living while helping technology companies. My tech career started in technical support, programming, and training. It migrated to creating, fixing, and managing support, training, programming, QA, project management, and other groups/functions/personnel. For several years while doing my tech management thing, I also bred and raised Golden Retriever show dogs. It was a hobby I would not really call a career, but it allowed me to pay a fair amount to some excellent professional handlers. I no longer raise show dogs. My last sweet Golden Retriever passed away and is dearly missed. As mentioned above, I now teach and supervise individuals in a wonderful work environment. I also work with my wife to provide financial services to families, individuals, and small businesses.
Military
I was number 10 in the Vietnam War Draft, so I was given the usual physical and testing. I should have volunteered, but I expected to be drafted and waited for that to happen. The draft board surprised me with a student deferral, and I ended up never serving in the military.
