Randy's Story

Life Went to school at El Cap for 2 years and finished at Buffalo High in Wyoming. Worked in Gillette, WY for a year and went to work for Combined insurance until 1981 when I moved back here to San Diego, now living just over a hill or two from where I grew up. Some birds never fly far from the nest. Actually, more like a steelhead or a salmon - grew up in the ocean, but returned to the headwaters. Got a job in construction and tried my hand at a couple of other things in between including going to college for a couple of years and majoring in business as well as playing baseball. Worked for the Broadway Dept. Stores for a couple of years and got married during that time. The marriage only lasted for a year, if that. After my experiment in retail sales and at being married I went back to construction and after a couple of years went on my own and now operate a small business. I also got involved in Ebay selling a few things aquired along the way and got myself hooked so that now I have a little sideline selling mostly Anza custom made knives and other related outdoor items as "Stone Mountain Outfitters"(all one word) on ebay. Also, I'm a world class photographer. Well, OK! Maybe not 'world class' at least for sure 'East County Class'! lol I've got a few published photos around about and also do some of the local sporting events, mostly car related - racing and car shows. It's all mostly for fun, but pays enough to afford a few new photo luxuries every now and then. Keep your eyes open around town and in the local media - your likely to see a photo credit with my name and can say, "I went to school with that geek." I do a little fishing, some whitewater river kayaking & rafting, play some poker, write songs, working on a couple of stories, maybe someday a book, do a bit of gardening, raise chickens and have been adopted by a stray cat or two. Haven't been too lucky at being adopted by the opposite gender though! They keep...Expand for more
me around for a year or two, then take me across town and dump me off somewhere I won't find my way back. I'm hoping to find a good home, but more likely will end up in the pound and that'll be the end. Old dogs usually end up just being put to sleep! Can't quite figure it out! I'm actually a well mannered pet, clean up my own messes, don't growl much and definately don't bite, don't stray at all, though I'm sure I've been caught wagging my tail at a stranger once in a while, but only a friendly hello wag! I see some of the useless pets others keep around and can only shake my fur in disbelief. Miss all you guys even though you all probably thought I was a nerd! Well probably still am if the truth be known. :) Hope to see you all again even if we've all gotten old and fat. Well maybe you all have--NOT ME! :) School Grew up in Lakeside, California going to kindergarten to sixth grade at Lindo Park, a year at Lakeside Middle School until they finished Tierra Del Sol, finished eigth grade there then began El Capitan High and went there my Freshman and Sophmore years. Moved with my folks to Buffalo, Wyoming and I finished school there at Buffalo High. Met a lot of nice people along the way and want to thank you all for being friends, teachers and mentors -- even thanking the kids who beat me up for teaching me how to be a fast runner and most of all face the IRS! :) Love you all, especially the ones who had the initials -C.B., J.M., A.F., G.H., AND OF COURSE MUST MENTION - Mr. Lipetsky(who taught me how to squash a grapefruit), Coach Olsen(taught me my first obscene words) and Mr. Kresge(Yes, I put the tack on your chair, I'm sorry - you were a great American History and Civics teacher, loved the debates as well) College College was mostly a chance to play baseball and expand my learning curve and get a little business savy. Cared less about a degree then, but maybe someday a Phd behind my name??? Got plenty of BS now! LOL
