Raymond's Story
Life
My name's Ray, I'm 18, and I'm currently enlisted in the US Navy. I've got a mom, dad, and a brother. They all mean the world to me. I've got some good friends that keep me out of trouble both at home and here at Great Lakes, IL., where I'm currently stationed. At this moment my life is tilting between optimistic and pessimistic, but I guess that's how life always is.
My car's not here with me, but I usually drive an 85 Toyota Corolla GT-S, which will have it's guts ripped out and transferred to my 86 Toyota Corolla SR5.
School
I didn't do as well as I wish I did in school. But in a way I'm kind of thankful for that. If I had good enough grades I might've ended up being a Nuke.
Went to school at Los Pen until 2nd grade, then I got transferred to Sunset Hills. Went to Black Mountain, then got transferred to Mesa Verde in the middle of 8th grade. Thankfully, I started and finished high school at Mt. Carmel.

I was barely there. I kind of feel bad about it when I look back.
Can't forget the great friends I found at school. You guys know who you are.
College
Not going to college right now (Don't really have the grades for it), but I plan on going to college either during my enlistment if I decide to stay in the Navy as a career, or I'll go to a university after my five years of service. If I do go, I hope to go to SDSU.
Workplace
Enlisted in the US Navy on August 16, 2004. Not a good idea for a first job, but it's money. Left for bootcamp the next day, and finally I'm here at IT "A" school in Great Lakes, IL. Hopefully I'll either return to San Diego or go to Yokosuka, Japan for my next duty station.
Military
Joined the Navy in August 2004. Right now I'm an Information Systems Technician Second Class (IT2/E-5). So far I've done 1 combat deployment to the Horn of Africa, mainly Djibouti. I'm pending orders to go to Iraq in a few months.
