Ray's Story
After graduating from the US Naval Academy in 1993 I completed Naval Flight Officer training in Florida and Texas. I moved to Jacksonville, Florida where I was stationed as Tactical Coordinator on P-3 aircraft with Patrol Squadron 5. During my time in the Squadron I was deployed to many different places, including Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Panama, France, Israel, Germany and Sicily. I married Darcie Georgeson in 1997. We moved to Naples, Italy in June 1999. Our daughter, Kendall was born there in February, 2000. After a challenging but worthwhile 2-year tour in Italy, we moved back to California...Expand for more
and returned to civilian life. I was diagnosed with Myotonic Dystrophy and was medically retired from the Navy. Our second daughter, Caroline was born in Sacramento in June, 2002. We settled in Sparks, NV (Reno area) in 2004. Caroline started first grade in July '08, and Kendall is now a third grader. I have been with Amazon.com for 4 years now. We are only about a mile from my brother-in-law, Steve Georgeson and his wife, Sharon. It's great that our kids get to spend so much time with their cousins, Kyle and Delaney. My mom is still in Pacifica, and we try to get to the Bay Area as often as possible.
