Life
Sure seems odd to be turning 65!
I've been retired for four years from work as a computer programmer for BOCES, an org. which supplies services to school districts, e.g. vocational and special ed courses, computer services (both administrative and classroom), etc. I wrote and maintained programs for SE IEP's, report cards, student schedules, Medicaid processing, etc.
Retirement is great! I'm heading for my 33rd year as a church choir director!I write songs and occasionally whole services.
I'm still singing, still vacillating between classical and folk. I sing in the Syracuse Opera chorus, but most of what I write I can sing with my guitar.
I'm married to a retired physics teacher, x-ctry and Track...Expand for more
& Field coach, who travels frequently for USA T&F, teaching and certifying coaches. Known as 'the big guy', he attended college on a football scholarship and competed for years as a drug-free Power Lifter.
He has 6 kids, I have 3. Between them all, we have 25 grandchildren!
We will have been married 23 years come October. For me, this is amazing.
I first married an artist, in '63. Had my 3 kids. He was later diagnosed as a bi-polar schizophrenic. I left in '68 soon after my daughter was born.
I landed in Rochester, NY, and graduated from the Eastman School of Music, and married a percussionist. We split 7 years later. He's a dear fellow, but the step-family thing just didn't work!
