Rebecca's Story
I don't think many people that I attended school with realized that I was always trying to work my way through feelings of severe insecurity. I was always taller and thinner than anyone and was constantly ridiculed from childhood on (now it's popular). This perceived flaw was exacerbated by the knowledge that I had been abandoned by my parents as a 15 month old infant. I was raised by three very caring great aunts, but never experienced the special connection of understanding and sharing between mother and daughter that I envied in my friend's lives. My sister and I were seperated as infants and I was lonesome and depressed. d my five cats are strays and shelter kitties. I also have 10 sponsored children that I support monthly throughout third world countries as well as other numerous charities that I try to support. I have been in real estate for years and find satisfaction in knowing that I have helped someone. I love all arts, reading, movies, New York City, teddy bears, and the fact that I have been able to move forward and not focus on my mistakes and dissapointments. I am married now to a plumbing contractor who shares my love and compassion for those less fortunate than ourselves whether they be creature or person. I still retain the spiit that prompted me to write protest poetry in 1969, and I still love Scott McKenzie's song, "If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair."
