Rebecca's Story
Life
In 1992, I married the guy I was dating throughout my senior year of H.S. He was an '84 RHS grad and a computer guru. We came back to the Tri-Cities in '99. We have 3 precious (or is that precocious) kids: Caitlin (17), Christopher (11) and Ciara (9). I earned a BA in Psychology from EWU (after changing my major a few times...I really should have gone to Med school!) and plan one day to pursue a Masters degree. In October 2007 my former husband, Jeff was diagnosed with a non-malignant brain tumor in the "eloq...Expand for more
uent" area of the brain. In Aug '08 the tumor showed rapid progression and the surgery (a 12-hr awake craniotomy) was performed in Oct '08. Radiation and Chemo followed and final pathology showed parts of the tumor to be a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). In February 2010, Jeff lost his valiant battle with brain cancer. Through some miracle of fate, I reconnected with a classmate whose son is a brain cancer survivor. Jon Goodenough and I married on August 6, 2011 and I am now a step-mom to Ashlyn (16) and Ethan (13).
