Rebekah's Story
Life
Well, where to begin. Hmm, I've been married, had 3 kids, ended up divorced. All my kids are grown. My son, who has Down Syndrome, lives at home with me. I live in West Des Moines. I took early retirement from West Des Moines Schools a couple years ago. Now I work as an optician at Walmart Vision Center (fun job!). I'm active in children's ministries, the book store, and am part of the praise and worship team at my church. I recently published the first in a series of children's books: A Day in the Life of a Fairy, which is about a cleaning fairy who ends up meeting a very special person (also in Spanish). This is available on Amazon. My writing alias is "The Notorious Mrs. D"

ve to do things the hard way. I'm happy that I got to know some of the people I went to school with. If I'd had my head on straight, I'm sure my relationships would have been much better. In any case, I have some good memories there.
College
I wish I had done it 20 years earlier. It's true...our brains are much less absorbent as we get age. Plus, it's easier to attend college when you aren't supporting 3 kids, a home, a cat. My saving grace is distance learning. If it weren't for taking classes online, I am sure that I would never have gone farther than the first 2 years. I've earned an AAS in Medical Assisting, a BA in E-business Mgmt and a Master's in Divinity through the distance learning program at Liberty Theological Seminary.
