Reginald's Story
School
After graduating from Vance in 1984, I started at UNC-Chapel Hill in August 1984. I have always been a workaholic; so I carried a full classload, worked 3 1/2 of my 4 years and every summer. Somehow I managed to graduate in May of 1988. August of 1988, I started teaching at Mary Potter Middle School in Oxford, NC. I taught middle school language arts, social studies with Granville County until I was hired to serve as lead teacher in the county's alternative program. In 1994, I was moved to an administrative post as Dean of Students at Northern Granville Middle School. I continued in that post and enrolled in grad school (part time) at UNC in 1998. IN 1999, I was appointed assistant prinicipal at Northern Granville and two weeks later, I was offered a job as Ass...Expand for more
ociate Principal at Orange High School in Hillsborough. This job allowed me to move closer to my church. Yes, I am still preaching. In fact I am senior pastor of the Refuge Temple Church in Burlington. I completed my masters degree in School Administration in 2002. Most recently I have been named as principal of Glenn Elementary School in Durham. I am due to begin in that new position this month.
I married Charity Alston in 1990. We are blessed with three children. Shortly after we married, we adopted one of my middle school students, Tasha Sanders. She is married and believe it or not, I am "Papa" to her two children Ariana and AJ.
Our son, Reginald Joel Davis, II was born 1/17/92 and our daughter, Geneva Andreal Davis was born 1/21/97. God has been good to us.
