Reid's Story
I truly enjoyed my childhood growing up in Des Moines. We lived at 4129 12th St, but left family and friends behind when we moved to San Diego, CA in 1957. I had just started at Warren Harding and my father left for San Diego to secure a job at Ryan Aeronautical. I followed a short while later and lived with the George Walk family (sons Butch & Bob Walk also attended Oak Park)for a short time while my mother sold the family home and my sister Deanna graduated from North High.
I've worked for the F.W. Woolworth Co, Woolco Dept Stores plus TG&Y Family center stores. Moved around a lot in retail but came back to San Diego in 19...Expand for more
86. Married a wonderful girl Cherie, one son with family living in Texas and three grandsons. Made a trip back to Des Moines in 2007 to visit cousins and do some genealogical research. Visited Oak Park and was treated to a tour by Jeannie Farrington who was very kind. Went to visit the old neighborhood and found one of the original residents still living in their home in their late 80's, early 90's.
I'm now retired and live in Temecula, CA about 50 miles north of San Diego. Enjoy movies of all kinds, especially older ones and musicals, and do spend a lot of time on genealogical research. I’ve been doing it for over 40 years.
