Renard's Story
What's my story?
Currently, I'm living in south Orange County. I fly for a private (fractional) airline. We fly thousands of "private" customers. Due to the clientele we fly, we are fortunate as pilots to be able to visit some of the most interesting and exciting places through out the world.
Prior, I flew for the U.S. Army. My greatest love has always been helicopters. So as my brothers took the Air Force route, I took the army route, as 98% of all army pilots are helicopter pilots.
I entered into the army warrant officer program to fly helicopters after completing a Bachelor of Business degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
While flying helos as an instructor, I was able to complete a Masters in Aeronautical Science before heading overseas to fly Military Intelligence missions over Albania / Bosnia.
Before the military, I enjoyed a wonderful life growing up on east side of Oahu. I moved there after seventh grade. and I didn't leave until I had graduated college.
Those times and those memories will be cherished forever:
Body surfing after school (sometimes during school) at Sandy Beach and Makapu'u. Diving off the cliffs in Portlock and hanging out on the rocks listening to a ghetto blaster... The Sex Pistols, The Clash and later...Depeche Mode, New Order, OMD and the Psychedelic Furs. Of course...a lot of SKA and reggae, as well. I have fond memories of playing SKA music with a saxophone on stage at the nightclubs in Waikiki.
Prior to moving to Hawaii, I lived in Sunnyvale, California. I look back at those days with some fond memories. Although, it was a long time ago, I still remember some of...Expand for more
the people and memories as if had happened just yesterday:
I remember that my neighborhood was only half way built in the beginning. I remember spending my weekends screwing around in the homes that were under construction. I remember screwing around in the creek behind Laurelwood Elementary School. I remember the K-mart we used to hang out in. I remember sneaking behind the Albertsons and taking the 'return for deposit' coke bottles and bringing them back around to the front of the store and cashing them back in. Then waiting a few hours until these bottles were placed outside the back door again where we would grab them again and bring them around to the front and cash them back in. We did this for years before the employees caught on. In my excuse, we were always told to recycle. So we did. We took them from the back of the store and recycled them through the front of the store.
Maybe I should keep my mouth shut before I incriminate myself. I did some pretty stupid things in my younger years. But, it was all part of growing up. It was all in good fun.
Well, that pretty much wraps it up. So much for a few simple paragraphs. Where life will take me next...I have no idea. Currently, I reside in Dana Point. The company I fly for allows me to live anywhere to show up at the closest airport. Where life flows next is always exciting.
The flying I do, allows me to run into many interesting people. Hopefully, I'll be able to run into some of my friends from the past (if I can just find you folks).
I hope to see you while traveling the friendly skies...
Until then... Aloha!
