Rene's Story
Life
Since I left Chicago in 1971 I've looked back a hundred times. None of those gazes were looking back on what I thought was home. They were just the past. I knew I wasn't going back. In 1982 Mom and Dad retired and built a house on my property here in Alabama. After that move of theirs I thought Chicago was completely in my past. Things change. Later I started flying for a living and was able to visit all over the US and Chicago included. I ended up flying to airports around Chicago that I didn't even know exsisted when I lived there. One time I even flew Mrs Ryan, the governors wife along with the govenors wife of Alabama into Meigs airport there on the lake. Then in 1999 my son, his wife and two of my grand kids moved to the Chicago area to attend medical school. Seems I ended coming back so many times that it makes you wonder about how your destiny involves no input from the person living it.

d to grow up again and given a choice I would pick a small town instead of the big. Who knows though. Kids from huge familys have small families when grown and kids from small towns like the big town feeling.
I have reached a place now that leaves me curious about what I missed after I left. I've made no reunions or have no contact with friends I grew up with.
The ironic twist about this is I'm not the person I was when I was at CVS. Most of the people around me at the time never knew I was there. I played no sports and participated in little activity. I know how things are now and I also know most would have enjoyed getting to know me better. I guess there's that destiny thing again.
So I end the bio with this. Last October fourth 2004 I turned nineteen thousand days old at 7:48 PM central standard time. Those days and the ones since are all I get. I take them all in now with careful handling. Maybe the destiny will bring some of the past to one of the days not yet counted.
