Renee's Story
Life
After graduating from Duquesne University in 1998 with a BS in Elem./Early Childhood Educ, I went on to get my Master's in Deaf Educ. from Bloomsburg University.
I taught deaf students in inner-city Richmond for a year, and then moved to Virginia Beach, where I taught deaf students for another 3 1/2 years. Then I changed jobs, as I needed a break from the stresses of teaching special ed. I was a claims adjustor for an insurance company for two years, and loved the job and the higher paychecks...but didn't like the long hours and the crazy workload.
My husband and I met back in 2000, and were married in May 2003. He's an Avionics Technician in the US Navy. He actually grew up in central PA as well. We had gone to the same summer camp when we were teens...but didn't think too highly of each other back then. Isn't it str...Expand for more

Our daughter was born in 2004. She inspired me to reprioritize and be a stay at home mom. Miss the money, but not the stress. Just like the commercials say...having a baby changes everything!
Then in 2006, life changed again (for the better, of course) when our son was born. One boy...one girl...dog, cat...family vehicle...now our family is complete! It still freaks me out a little that I'm a thirty-something mother of two! When did all that happen?!
Just when things were starting to settle down, we find out Dan's being transferred in July 2007. We hope it will be a positive change, as we're relocating to the Philly/Wilmington area, and will be a lot closer to our families. Chances are, we'll be sent back to Virginia in a few years...but it will be a nice change of pace in the meantime.
