Life
COLONEL REX K. SNIDER, JR.
From Fairmont, W. Va., Colonel Rex Snider graduated from Grove City College, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He was commissioned on October 1, 1980 at Officer Training School. In addition, Colonel Snider completed a Masters Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.
Currently, Colonel Snider is the Plans and Requirements Division Chief in the Intelligence Directorate at Air Combat Command. Previously he served a one-year remote as the Combined Air Operations Center, Director of Intelligence at Al-Udeid Air Base, Qatar. Prior to Qatar, he served at Ramstein Air Base, Germany as the Air Forces Europe, Director of Intelligence and was instrumental in the stand-up of DGS-4 and served as the ISR Division Chief in USAFEÂs Air Operations Center. During this tour he deployed to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey as the 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force A-2, executing OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.
Prior to serving in Germany, he served as the Deputy Group Commander for the 480th Intelligence Group, Langley AFB Virginia. Immediately after 9/11, he was instrumental in leading the warriors of the DGS-1/2 into OPERATION ENDURNG FREEDOM by providing reachback intelligence operations for U-2s, Global Hawk and Predator sorties flying over Afghanistan and Iraq.

ence Squadron, Osan Air Base Korea. During this tour, he oversaw 600 U-2 sorties and directed exploitation operations of DGS-3 and held key Air Operations Center intelligence leadership positions in both UFL 98/99.
Prior to transitioning into Intelligence in 1992, he logged over 2200 hours as an Instructor Radar Navigator on B-52s and as a B-1B Instructor Offensive Systems Operator and Flight Commander. During his tenure in B-52s, he was the 62 BMS ÂNav of the Quarter for four successive quarters. In B-1s, he served on the wing staff standing up a brand new B-1 squadron. During his tour he won a 9-month inter-squadron bombing competition, earning the position as the lead aircraft in an AF-wide bombing competition.
