After graduation I worked at a few jobs in Fairmont. The wonderful 'new' Burger Chef was my first job. I then worked at Galis in Pleasant Valley winding electric motors with my mother. I went to Bible school in Michigan in January 1970 and met my future husband there. We got married in August of that year. While he went on to get his B.A. we had 3 babies pretty close together. (We never seemed to do anything the easy way.) I was thrilled with having my own little family. We moved to Minnesota to pastor a church and from there to Indiana. While there, Myron's brother moved to Alaska and bought a lodge. The lodge was in the Athabascan Indian community of Dot Lake on the Alaska Highway. They had a gas station, restaurant, grocery store and post office. They asked us to come. That was all it took. My husband always talked about the North Land and so ... we were on our way.
