Rhonda's Story
Life
After high school, I went to Richland for a year then transfered to a small, private college in east Texas. I graduated in 1984 with an associates degree in data processing. I met my ex-husband while in college and we married in December, 1984. We have three daughters (Chloe-29, Ciera-27 and Chevis-19). We divorced in 2000.
Between child #2 and child #3, I went back to school at Cedar Valley college (part of DCCCD) to pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology. After 2 years of diligent study, and 8 months along (pregnant) with daughter #3, I graduated. I then sat for the state and national board exams and earned the certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
I have been working in the veterinary field ever since. In addition to being an RVT, I am also the Practice Manager of a 4-Doctor vet clinic in north Dallas.

pretty much stayed here in the Richardson/Garland area. My three daughters graduated from MST North Garland High School. My eldest (Chloe') lives in Roanoke, VA. #2 daughter (Ciera) is pursuing a nursing degree in Jackson, MS. And my youngest (Chevis) will at UT Austin this fall (2014), in the Radio, Television, Film program.
I seem to be addicted to learning, too (LOL!). In 2011, I earned another Associates degree in Business Administration, and I am now pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology through Tarleton State University in Stephenville. I hope to graduate in Spring 2015.
I've run into a few classmates over the years and it's amazing to me how much I do NOT remember about high school. It seems to be a big blur to me. I guess I was just trying to get through it all ... day by day.
