Rhonda's Story
Life
I worked for my husband before we were married. He ran an ambulance service. He was one of the first certified EMT's in the nation. We have been married since 1972. I also became an EMT and worked in that field for several years.
I attended college at Delta State University and majored in Criminal Justice. I then spent 12 years as a Correctional Officer at the Mississippi Department of Corrections. My husband also worked with the Dept. of Corrections, first as a physician's assistant, then as a Correctional Officer, and finally as a Parole Office...Expand for more

When he was transferred, I quit my job and tried a couple of other occupations but so many places were closing down that I decided that the best thing for me to do was get a government job so I went to work at the Post Office. I finally worked nights and went back to school in the daytime to get my electronics degree and I now work as an Electronics Tech. with the Post Office.
I have two daughters. My oldest daughter is married and has three children. My youngest daughter graduated from high school in 2006 and is planning her wedding in September.
