Rhonda's Story

Life I've been a military spouse for the last 19 years. We only have 1 left to go and then we will move back to MO. My husband has made MSGT rank and life is finally alot easier. I've had the opportunity to see so many places: The Philippines, Mainland Japan, Okinawa Japan, Taipei, Bali, Hawaii(US),Mexico, Canada and Many US states. He is a firefighter in the USAF. This is our 5th assignment and we are now in North Dakota...bit of a change from Okinawa but it's great here. I have 3 children...2 boys one is 17 (I hope I survive him)and the other 10, a girl who is turn 14 going on 20. I feel like I am getting old FAST! We have 2 dogs, numberous fish and a pet rabbit. The rabbit loves to run around the house terrorizing the dogs and eating all our electrical cords. I now work at JCPenney Salon as a stylist, I've been there over 4 years now and love my job?. I love the interaction that I get with my clients. I am currently taking online courses to obtain a degree in Human Resource Management which will be finished next summer :) Life is always an adventure, new people everyday...what more could I want? School I can look back on high school and remember so much unnecessary drama. What were we thinking? I suppose that I w...Expand for more
asn't at my best in those years. I could have been a nicer person, studied harder and just enjoyed life more. I remember always being anxious over one thing or another. I had way too many crushes to ever explain. Loved all my science classes and really never had a bad experience with a teacher. My friends were great and I had many great male friends. Wouldn't want to go back to any of those days but they were very memorable! College I really didn't get much out of college other than a good social life. My parents were a bit overly strict so when I started school I had a lot of freedom. Classes were skipped often and all the parties I went to were great. I now regret that I didn't try harder, I did pass my classes but not with anything to be proud of! Now many years I am back at it again, only this time the end is in sight. Military I have been a military spouse for about 19 years now, and love it. The military has helped to make my marriage strong, allowed me to see things I could only have dreamed about and made me a much better person. I think it made my husband and I grow up quickly and realize that the world does not revolve around us. I will miss it when he retires but I look forward to having a boring life.
