Ricardo's Story

Life Born and raised in Springfield, Ohio. Attended Highlands Elementary, Perrin Woods Elementary, Hayward Jr. High and South High School. Moved away from Springfield to Tacoma, Wa in the summer of 1980 but returned to Springfield to graduate with my class (Class of '81). After 3 grueling months of living with my Father, I decided to return to Tacoma and finish school there. Graduated from Lincoln High in 1981 and worked various jobs until 1984 when I decided to join the USAF. Entered the military in December of '84. I have had the pleasure (and displeasure....lol) of traveling to a slew of foreign countries, to include, Korea, Malaysia, Germany Singapore, the Phillipines, Kuwait, Bahrain and most recently, a 5-month tour of duty in Iraq. I was married in 1985 which lasted all of two and a half years. Remarried in February of 1993 and divorced in 2000. I am the father of a 16 year old son who lives in Atlanta, Ga. stationed in Utah. One more year to retirement!! My one regret is not sweating it out with my Dad and staying in Springfield to finish school. I have a lot of fond memories of my high school days (Band, Orchestra, good friends, etc....). There are a lot of names that I remember and would love to hear from people that I grew up and cut up with at good ol' South High! Military Entered basic training USAF in Decenber of 1984. Currently stationed at Hill AFB in Utah. My career has taken me to places such as, Georgia, New Mexico, Korea, , Phillipines, Malaysia, Germany, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq (recently) and many other temporary tours of duty. Update: Well, I finally reached my goal after almost 24 years. After 3 more grueling tours to Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004, 2006 and 2007, I was promoted to E-7 in September 2008! October 2010, after 26 years in the military, I have called it quits! Currently retired and living in Utah.
