Life Well, I went to Hodgkins Jr. High in Augusta and was looking forward to going to Cony and graduating in '86 with my friends from Hodgkins. But that summer I went to visit my mother in Denver and wound up staying. It would have broken her heart if I left and I couldn't do that. I also had issues with my father in Maine that I wasn't ready to face. At first it was just going to be a couple years then it wound up being all four. My high school experience in Denver was miserable. I didn't even want to go to my own graduation and never even bought a yearbook. To this day I wish I had gone to Cony. While on Leave from the army, I attended my sister Melissa's Cony graduation in '89. She had purchased a copy of the '86 Coniad I would have owned if I had gone there. I read it cover to cover over and over. There were so many people I recognized all the way back to my elementary school years at Gilbert. I actually cried when I realized what I had missed out on.
