Rick's Story
Life
After graduating from Tower, I eventually married and had a son (Derek). I am now married for the second time, and have been happily married since 1990 to Carol. Unfortunately, Derek passed away in 2002 at the age of 22,
Career-wise, I had worked in Information Technology for 25 years. However, after being downsized from the organization that I worked for, I decided that the time was right to change careers, this time with Graphic Design being my new direction. Graphic Arts had really been my first love anyways, as it were, as far as a career goes, but at the time (so many years ago) Information Technology seemed to be more practical. Design in Macomb Community College's Media and Communication Arts program. I've recently had the opportunity to learn software such as QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash, among others. I am excited about the prospect of using these new skills in a graphic design career, even at this stage of my life, and am keeping my eye open for any positions in this new venture.
As well, I am involved in my church, Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Warren, and I still listen to the classic rock that was popular at the time of my graduation in 1975.
There is really not much more to tell at this time, but I look forward to possibly hearing from some of you from Tower High, and perhaps filling in more details.
