Richard's Story

Life Just found this site by accident while surfing (1/17/01). Great to see so many familiar names I haven't seen nor thought about for many years. Just think, over fourty years ago we left MHS for who knew what. No BS from me, no millionaire, no famous kids, just a family man pushing the edges of middle age up here in Maine. Left MSH like the rest of you, tried college and then the real world of work. Did my stint in the US ARMY, met my wife while assigned to Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. She was an assistant to Senator Muskie (she is famous). Went to work for a number of medical companies including Smith Kline, American Home Products and Bayer. Finally left that and started a Deli in Maine. Great success, sold it and bought into a Lab business. Recently sold out and am semi retired selling insurance (long term care). Let me know if you need some, it's a great investment. Have four sons, four daughters in law, eight grandkids. "Busy kids". Health is great, wife is better. I married a school teacher but a great woman, "ANN". I look forward to hearing from some of you especially Gary M, Ann G, Anthony 'the math wiz',Gary R and any others that might remember me, the little guy with the crew cut. Keep well and stay in touch. updated 3/15/005 Well it's been a number of year since I last...Expand for more
updated "my story" and a few things have happened. First of all I now have ten grandchildren. My son David and his wife Christine had 'twins", Olivia and David. The real story is that Daddy David is a twin as well, he had an identical brother, Stephen, but Olivia and David Jr. are obviously not identical. My wife and I have moved a few times since I last wrote, we sold our home in Nobleboro Maine after building it and living there for over thirty years. The grass is always greener, wrong, we thought Florida was the place for us, purchased a lovely home in Sarasota and sold it after two years and moved back to Maine. Sarasota was nice and lots to do and wonderful friends and neighbors but I guess we lived in rural Maine for too long, the city life just did not appeal to us so back to the woods of Maine, no I have not turned into a hermit, just like the easy life in Maine. We are 'snowbirds' however and do go to New Smyrna Beach Florida for the three winter months. Hope to hear from some of the remaining classmates, we had planned to go to both the 50th and 55th but as usual, things came up and a change of plans. I will be at the 60th come hell or high water. Best to all of you classmates, hope all of you are well, happy and retired. Best to all of your families and God bless and keep you well.
