Richard's Story
UPDATE: Married Marilyn Emory in 2014. We dated while at Broughton. Picture of us from 1969 is on the site here. Moved to Edenton, NC and restored a historic property in town where we live and opened Edenton Bay Clayworks. Edenton puts us in the mid-point between grandkids, so travel is easier. 2021 celebrated 50 years of working in ceramics / pottery for me.
I worked for Corning Inc. in Wilmington, NC and had Pumpkin Creek Pottery in Castle Hayne where I produced wood fired stoneware and taught until we moved to Edenton in 2017.

ferent companies in the yacht manufacturing industry as a Design Engineer and Project Manager. We built motor yachts up to 66 feet in length as well as sportfishermen up to 48 feet in length. As an interesting sideline we also built commercial and military craft from whaleboats to patrol boats to US Navy Special Warfare craft.
I still like to fish (off to Cape Hatteras) backpack, swim, bicycle, boat, paint, draw and do free-lance design. I've added writing to my creative endeavors but only for myself to enjoy.
