Richard's Story
Well here it is February 2011 and by the Grace of God I still walk this earth. I have retired as a journeyman inside wireman eledtrician of IBEW Local 153 here in good old South Bend, Indiana, yes the tap root has run deep as I'm still in the area. I am divorced, can you imagine that, and now live one day at a time in North Liberty, Indiana.
I retired April 1,2010 but one week prior I decided (well my body decided) to take an adventure and see what it would be like on the other side and I suffered a dissected aota [ guess I should have taken the class in biology and I would know what dissection was all about] and tried to die. a 5% chance of surviving the surgery) and replaced, as he stated my shreaded aorta, starting at the root and extending up to the top of the arch and down to the illiac arch, after sowing the aortic valve back in place. This minor detour resulted in a 43 day hospital stay but hey I never stayed in a hospital before so I thought (thinking has a way of getting me in trouble) I would make the most of the situation.
We still thank the man upstairs, always thanked him before every day for allowing me to go vertcal, BUT I really am thankful now so we are kicking back and enjoying every second of LIFE.
