Richard's Story
Life
Life is pretty much traveling in a circle. It started in school, went to the army, got out and worked outside for 7 years, then came back in the army and am also in school. In a few more years I'll be retiring and working on the outside again. Lots of little blessings though, especially my wife. I maried a Korean national during my second tour here in 87. Have now been happily married to her for 16 years. I'll never get rich working for Uncle Sam, but I can't complain either. My sister once told me that "success is measured in happiness, not dollars and cents". In that perspective I'm extremely successful.
School
After catholic grade schools Manual was too much fun, although it's all kind of blurry now. Those of you that knew me will understand
College
Went to UofL after the army, but working full time took precedence. After rejoi...Expand for more
ning the army took classes at JCC in NY, CTT in Korea and Fort Knox and E-Town CC at Knox. After a whole bunch of unneccessary classes, finally got an associates from CTT in Korea. Am currently pursuing another Asscoiates in Asian studies.
Workplace
The Army was a good starting point, but then after 7 years of security work, running a bar and liquor store I figured the Army wasn't so bad. Now I'm a Staff Sergeant and loving life in Korea.
Military
Did 4 years right after HS, got out and rejoined 7 years later. I've really enjoyed it though. Been stationed in Alabama, California, Japan, Korea, New York, Fort Knox and back to Korea where I am now. 1ST I was an MP (Frank Jackson would shit if he knew), then an Investigator, then a Truck Driver/Mechanic and after trying so long to settle on a Career I became and still am a Career Counselor.
