Richard's Story

OK, so how can I do this without seeming like one is blowing one's own horn? Well, I'll try. Maybe not! I just typed a quick two pages on a review from Azalea to my last year in high school and I haven't even got to my adult life. I'll try a condensed adult version first. So whatever happened to Rick Kaminsky? Rick went into sales for the first 12-years of his adult life. During those 12-years I wanted to start my own business. My first business start was in manufacturing a line of speakers called Kamtex. Spent so much time trying to start this business cost me an ulcer and a divorce. During the disco years, my roommate and I designed lighted disco floors in many disco clubs in Tampa, St. Pete, and Altamonte Springs. All this would be done before reaching 25. At age 30 I was privileged to have a daughter, Heather. Also at 30 I had it with sales and looked at becoming an electrical contractor. I would have to devote 5-years, but I thought it would be better than going to college. Boy was I wrong on that one! About 5-months shy of completing my journey I had my first threat to my life when a man not paying attention slammed into the back of my car at 60mph. Messed up the neck real good. Thinking I was indestructible I returned to work plus started an underwater electrical marine business. Taking $50 I needed plus a draw on my first electrical contract I started my business. In 6-months I was making a 6-figure income and had absorbed a cleaning business from a friend and was trying to get that business going with a proper crew. I still had to complete the time with my electrical employer so I could be qualified to take the ...Expand for more
electrical contractor's exam when the unendurable happened. While toting an oven, for my electrical employer I stress fractured my neck leaving only one vertebrate that would not need fusion. I would not recover from this injury and still, today have problems, but I keep a smile on my face because I remember going to a place in Tampa that had a man in a wheelchair. I could see the scar on his neck from his neck surgery and I would look at him and thank the good Lord that I may be destructible but I'm alive and though I've slowed down a bit I can still freely move about. Since the physical work was over for me I turned to college and loved it so much I almost became a professional student. Instead of 2-yrs for an A.A., I took 3, instead of 2-yrs to finish my B.A. I took another 3, and Instead of an extra 2-yrs to finish my master's I took 3 and didn't get to finish my master's. Just as I was getting on with a new career I took sick with a nerve disease in my hips, both legs, and arms. It killed my chance to return to work as planned, but I'm the type to turn a negative into a positive. So let us say I'm a work in progress. It's now 2022 and my daughter is now 37 with three fantastic grandchildren for me, and after drugs took her mother's life my daughter stood up and adopted her half-sister giving me another grandchild. Bet the X is ticked about me being her child's grandpa ;) As I was nearing retirement age I decided to return to college to update my networking skills and learn Cybersecurity. I finished the A.S. part and got accepted into the B.A. program for Cybersecurity Management. I am presently eager to return to work
