Richard's Story

Life After leaving Maple Shade, I started college at WVU for Chem. Engineering and Chemistry. Decided to focus of chemistry only. After 2 years, I transferred to the U of Arizona after my parents moved out there. Graduated with a BS in Chemistry in 1995. Moved on to grad school at the U of Penn in 1995, but moved up to MIT in 1996 when my advisor took a position there. In 1999, I received my PhD in Inorganic Chemistry and went back to Tucson to take a job at Schott-Donnelly working on electrochromic windows (windows that you can control the amount on tinting). oping polymer (plastic) based memory chips. Our company was bought out by AMD in 2003. However, in 2005, AMD decided to consoladate operations in CA, and shut down our facility. Another job change! I am currently working for Konarka Technologies in Lowell, MA, synthesizing polymers for use in flexible, lightweight solar panels. It's very interesting work and I get to be synthetically creative. In 2002, my wife, Corey, and I got married up in the Lake Winnipesaukee region. We have since bought a house and are still settling into it. Lots of home projects. We both enjoy skiing and are up in NH almost every weekend during ski season. We also squeeze in a week at Snowbird in Utah in March. No kids or pets, yet, but we've been thinking about it.
