Richard's Story
Life
Explored sex, drugs and rock & roll in college, as well as existentialism and anti-war protests. Determined to change the world, I went into teaching... to radicalize the youth with art. Had a trial marriage of 1.5 years and escaped. Kept teaching but moved to Cleveland for the culture. Left Cleveland because of the weather and moved to where I wanted to LIVE: OREGON. Fell in love with the light and scenery (1 hour from the Ocean and 1 hour from the 'actual snow-capped' Mountains), the weather (summer is dry and hot in the day, cool at night... while the winter is wet but never too cold)
A teaching collegue from Ohio fell in love with Oregon (and me too) and we lived happily ever after... at least for the last 27 years. o boys, both of whom are anti-establishment!... we must have done something right! I have had a teaching career as art specialist for 13 school districts, and a career in publishing and Graphic Design as well as an adjunct professor at the local Community College. Currently I am an illustrator/designer and teach Digital Photography, Macintosh, Web Design and Anime/Manga Cartooning. I am starting to get back to (traditional) Oil Painting and Watercolors- although my Macintosh tech affinity is also a lure. I am proud to live in a BLUE state, and only wish it were part of Canada, instead of Amerika- so my politics have only gotten more left and I am intolerant of anyone conservative... so I am no longer liberal, as my personal tolerance (which defines liberalism) for the stupidity, greed, righteousness, anti-environmentalism, religiosity and arrogance of Conservatives has become intolerable to me.
