Richard's Story
Life
I am a marathon runner and President of my running club (BoiseYStriders.Org). I have completed 25 marathons so far since my first in 2001. I placed first in my age group and became Boston Qualified for the first time in May 2005. Love to Run. (Thank you Tiffany K, Denise G, Patty B, Kelli D and all the others girls that used to chase me at Hillview Elementary.)
I am a Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer (reserve), currently employed at WinCo Foods Corporate Office here in Boise.
I married my High School Sweetheart, Jean (Dunn), and have three boys. (Please no Fred McMurray jokes.) The youngest, now 15, being an Idaho Native (poor kid). The older two ...Expand for more
are 25 (now attending Boise State, yep that is the place with the BLUE football field) and 23.
In Dec 2007, I had LASIK. No more glasses!!! It is great to be able to walk in the rain and see.
2008 was a great year. Ran 5 marathons, including the Napa Valley Marathon in March, and achieved new best times. Ran over 2000 miles in a year for the first time.
I came back to California in January for the 2009 Redding Marathon. It was great to see Dana from our Cross Country Team after 29 years.
In December 2011, I completed my 25th marathon and now I can finally say I did every marathon in Idaho.
