Richard's Story
Basic Chronology;
Attended Coaldale High School 1954 - 1958
Upon graduation entered the U. S. Navy Served from 1958 to 1962 Rated as Draftsman
Upon discharge entered the University of Michigan Majoring in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Graduted in May of 1967.
Met my future wife, Joan, while at the U of M. We both graduated in 1967.
We were Married in Erie Pa on June 17th, 1967 and subsequently took up residence in Newport News, Virginia.

lding and Dry Dock Co. She worked at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton.
I worked at the shipyard until 1977 when we made a move to the Washington DC area.
Worked for independent contractors as a Naval Architect supporting U.S. Navy programs.
Next Career move was to join the Department of Transportation-U. S. Coast Guard civilian employee.
I continued in that position until retiring in 2006.
I joined another private firm and continued working until 2010.
Now I am a Naval Architect (Ret).
